Anxiety is a relatively common emotional
problem. It can be a short term response to
life's events but chronic, long term
symptoms will indicate a mental health
problem.

"Hands On Scotland" is a useful website
for anyone working with or caring for
children and young people who have troubling
behaviours. It gives practical information
and tools to support you to respond
helpfully. It includes video clips,
information sheets and downloadable tips and
advice. Another section of the website
contains help on topics related to positive
mental health, like confidence, optimism,
resilience and good relationships which help
children and young people to cope with life
stresses.
The website was created with funding from
the Scottish Government to support mental
health and wellbeing.
