Further information:

Children and young people (0-18 years old but mainly school age children) are referred to CAMHS if there are significant concerns about their mental health or wellbeing and when their difficulties are impacting upon their day to day functioning. Referrals usually come from general practitioners, health visitors, social workers or from schools via the CYPT mental health and wellbeing screening group. They need to ask your permission before contacting us. All schools in West Lothian have a named mental health link worker (MHLW) who can advise schools on issues to do with mental health in children and young people. The MHLW can also offer consultation to schools and, where appropriate, attend child planning meetings in school.
